BNB Chain Names Simon’s Cat As Latest “Meme Heroes” Winner, Awards $50K Liquidity Support

BNB Chain has announced Simon’s Cat (CAT) as the latest winner of its “Meme Heroes” program, awarding the project $50,000 in liquidity pool (LP) support.

The “Meme Heroes” initiative is designed to boost meme token projects by providing LP assistance, helping to foster their growth. To participate, projects must verify their token source code on BscScan or undergo a security audit to ensure security and transparency.

Simon’s Cat, originally a popular animated series created by British animator Simon Tofield, has now ventured into the world of cryptocurrency with its own meme token on the BNB Smart Chain. The project connects fans of the series and crypto enthusiasts, offering a fun and engaging way to interact with both communities.

This award is part of phase two of the “Meme Heroes” program, which has committed $900,000 to support promising meme token projects that meet specific criteria. To qualify for LP support, projects must lock 100% of their LP liquidity for at least one year or send it to a null address. Additionally, they must contribute 10% of their total token supply to the LP, while the top 10 externally owned accounts (EOAs) must hold less than 10% of the total supply. Stakeholders are also required to lock or vest funds over time.

Other important factors include trading volume, the number of token holders, and overall market capitalization.

BNB Chain’s goal is to onboard the next billion users to Web3, and meme tokens play a key role in attracting newcomers. Through programs like “Meme Heroes,” BNB Chain aims to support innovative and secure meme projects, aligning with its mission to grow the Web3 ecosystem and develop exciting projects in the space.
