More worryingly, there are now 42 states where cases have been detected.
Virtually half of the cases in the US are linked to Washington state, California, and New York.
As a result of this growing pandemic, several states have declared a state of emergency.
With several dozen people succumbing to the pandemic, it is evident that the worst may yet be to come.
Just over a week ago, there were slightly over 100 confirmed novel coronavirus cases in the US.
Similar to other regions around the world, the situation has escalated fairly quickly.
The federal response has received a lot of negative backlash in recent weeks as well.
To this date, the capacity to test for the virus remains questionable.
As those questions linger, one has to wonder how dire the situation will get in the near future.
For now, the outlook doesn’t look too promising in the slightest.
If Europe is any example, the current countermeasures in place in the US may have come slightly too late.
