Vitalik Buterin Transfers 800 ETH As Major Whale Activity Shakes Ethereum Market

According to Lookonchain, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin made a notable transaction today, transferring 800 ETH, valued at approximately $2.01 million, to a multi-signature wallet.

He then exchanged 190 ETH for 477,000 USDC. Buterin has previously stated that he hasn’t sold ETH for personal gain since 2018, opting instead to donate it to charitable organizations or non-profits.

In parallel, a significant whale wallet has been making moves over the past three days, claiming 30,007 ETH, worth $78.67 million, and depositing 24,007 ETH (approximately $61 million) to Coinbase. This leaves the wallet with a balance of 6,000 ETH, valued at around $15.16 million.

In contrast, a new wallet withdrew 21,912 ETH, equivalent to $55.32 million, from Coinbase and subsequently staked it in Lido, a move that suggests continued confidence in Ethereum’s staking ecosystem.

Ethereum Spot ETFs Saw Notable Outflow Of $1.7 Million

Meanwhile, Ethereum spot ETFs saw a total net outflow of $1.77 million on August 29. Grayscale’s ETHE experienced a significant outflow of $5.35 million, while its mini ETF saw an inflow of $3.57 million. Despite these mixed flows, the total net asset value of Ethereum spot ETFs remains robust at $7.03 billion.

These substantial movements of ETH, particularly by key figures like Buterin and major whale wallets, are drawing attention within the market. The shifting of large amounts of ETH between wallets, exchanges, and staking platforms could have significant implications for Ethereum’s price stability and investor sentiment. As always, the actions of these influential players are closely watched, as they often signal broader trends within the crypto market.
