Comparison of 4 Mining Systems: NiceHash vs CoinFly vs Hive OS vs Awesome Miner

0

It takes more than owning the latest mining hardware in the market to run a profitable crypto mining business. Instead, you need to condition all your mining resources towards achieving an optimized output. This is where crypto mining software enters the fray.

Mining software platforms are systems designed for the maintenance, management, and monitoring of mining rigs and pool performances. With a quality mining system, it is possible to optimize the profitability of your mining activities based on data logged about the current performance of the mining hardware, the cost for running them, the difficulty of blockchains, the price of mineable cryptocurrencies among other things.

How then can miners pick the crypto mining system that best suits them, knowing fully well that there are several options available in the market? To make the decision-making process simple, I have decided to compare four of the most prominent crypto mining systems we have today. They include Hive OS, Awesome Miner, NiceHash, and CoinFly. But first, let me introduce you to each.

NiceHash

NiceHash is arguably the most popular crypto mining software in the market because it offers a simple outlook on crypto mining management and exchange services. This platform allows miners to monitor their mining activities, and it also serves as a p2p marketplace for people who are interested in buying or selling hash power. Furthermore, it comes with a native crypto exchange where users can easily trade coins. All in all, NiceHash owes the successes in its six years of existence in the crypto mining landscape to its capacity to make mining attractive to the average crypto proponent.

Features of NiceHash

  • It enables 2FA security features for all accounts.
  • NiceHash has a flexible fee structure that entails nominal payments from mining revenue or a small percentage of the amount used to buy or sell hash power as commission.
  • It is easy for beginners to set up and use the software.
  • With NiceHash, miners can remotely access real-time data on the performance of mining equipment.

CoinFly

Like the above-mentioned crypto mining software, CoinFly excels when it comes to the management and optimization of mining processes as well as hardware. The software is tailored towards easy onboarding, improved hardware setup, and autopilot mining. CoinFly finds unique ways to automate and simplify major mining processes so that miners can focus on getting the best out of their mining rigs. Moreover, CoinFly offers miners an instant asset exchange that has seen it emerge as one of the most efficient and versatile software in the crypto mining landscape.

Features of CoinFly

  • It provides automated and customizable mining settings.
  • It allows automatic equipment tuning and hardware optimization.
  • It is easy to use for on-the-spot and remote operations.
  • CoinFly has a flexible payment structure.
  • Its reporting system is comprehensive, transparent, and real-time.

CoinFly has their own most stable, safe, and profitable PPS Ethereum pool with Nodes in Microsoft Azure. Early adopters of bet version can mine free of charge with 0% commission, minimum ping for Europe, and minimum payment amount – 0.05 ETH per day.

Hive OS

Hive OS, a free-to-use crypto mining software, has proven to be one of the most reliable crypto mining software available today. This tool comes with robust functionalities that make monitoring and optimization a lot easier and faster. Since it is a lightweight operating system, Hive OS runs on an 8GB flash drive. Once you install the software and connect it to your mining farm, you can activate real-time monitoring, a remote console, a heatmap, and a long list of features that will give you insight on the efficiency of your rigs and ways to optimize them.

Features of Hive OS

  • It comes with a remote console and monitoring system.
  • The notification technology found in this platform is advanced.
  • Hive OS offers fast switching modes for coins and miners.

Awesome Miner

Awesome Miner is a window-based software designed for large scale miners. In other words, miners do not need to undergo major software scaling changes before incorporating enterprise-based hardware enhancements for large scale mining. Importantly, the software enables multi-user access, which is ideal for multiple personnel-based mining businesses with requirements for a unique user account for each permissioned miner. Likewise, it offers cloud services for remote monitoring.

Features of Awesome Miner

  • It supports a web-based interface, which aids remote monitoring.
  • It offers automated mining capabilities, ideal for individuals who are not always available to manually configure settings.
  • Awesome Miner is ideal for large scale mining activities.
  •  It displays real-time profit statistics.

Now that you have a basic knowledge of the above-listed software, it is time to compare them and determine their strengths and weaknesses. Note that I have segmented my findings into two sections. The first discusses the features that they all have in common while the second highlights unique functionalities that are absent in one or two of the reviewed software platforms. Moreover, these assessments focus on their capacity to optimize mining processes and enable profitability.

What Do They Have in Common?

ASIC and GPU rigs support: All the mining software platforms reviewed are compatible with ASIC and GPU rigs. As such, miners with both ASIC and GPU-based mining rigs do not need to run two software systems when they opt for any of the four platforms highlighted in this article.

Web-based hardware management design: The four mining software platforms in this study all adopt a web-based management interface, which means that miners can conduct all monitoring remotely. All you need do is login into your account to access real-time information on the status of your mining rigs from any location.

Overclocking and custom settings: Miners often tend to consider overclocking their mining equipment when they notice a dip in revenue as a result of increased competition. To ensure that miners can do this instantly and monitor its effects on the performances of their mining rigs, these software platforms offer native overclocking and custom settings.

What Are the Differences Between All Four Mining Software?

Custom OS: While Hive OS, NiceHash, and CoinFly are separate operating systems that miners need to install before they can access crypto mining optimization features, Awesome Miner is simply a software that you can download directly on your window-based device.

Fees: NiceHash OS and CoinFly are free-to-use. These two crypto mining software platforms have adopted a price framework that deducts a percentage of miners’ revenue. And so, miners can download and start using these systems for free without encountering any restrictions. On the contrary, Hive OS and Awesome Miner require fixed payments before miners can have unrestricted access to their features and supports.

External pool and mining software selection: Since three of the mining software platforms have their operating systems, they can, therefore, host a wide array of crypto mining pool software. The only platform that does not support this feature is Awesome Miner.

Pre-programmed responses to triggers: Even though all the reviewed mining software platforms supported remote monitoring, only CoinFly and Awesome Miner allow users to pre-configure responses to certain triggers. In other words, both software platforms offer features that enable intuitive responses to logged performances of mining rigs or changes in pools hashrates. For one, miners using CoinFly’s system can configure their mining rigs to auto-switch to the most profitable mineable coins based on real-time data.

Notifications: Hive OS has incorporated an improved notification system that is compatible with Telegram and Discord. The same level of notification capabilities was found on Awesome Miner and CoinFly. All three possess notification features for desktop and mobile devices. On the contrary, NiceHash’s notification capability is underwhelming.

Reporting and pool statistics: Of the four crypto mining software platforms reviewed, only CoinFly enables a customizable way of reporting mining or pool statistics. Hence, CoinFly’s users can determine the reporting style that suits them and opt for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting framework when they need to export data.

Conclusion

All four crypto mining software platforms mentioned in this article have undoubtedly proven their expertise in different mining optimization processes. As seen in the section highlighting the differences between them, CoinFly is perfect for individuals with high demand for automated and flexible mining capabilities, while Awesome Miner is a gamechanger for large scale miners. Also, Hive OS is attractive because of its impressive knowledge base and remote monitoring features, while NiceHash takes hash power exchange to a whole new level. For what is worth, your primary mining operation should determine the one that is right for you.
